2023 Annual Report of the Insurance Intermediation Study Center (Cesia) - Presentation by Professor Sara Landini

The 2023 Annual Report of the Insurance Intermediation Study Center (Cesia), an institution promoted by CgpaEurope, will be presented on May 21st at the Roman venue of the Hotel Parco dei Princìpi, starting at 3:30 PM. The eighth edition of the study delves into the impact of the Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) paradigm on insurance market operators, which was the focus of the Study Center’s activities in 2023. The publication also includes an analysis of recent case law regarding the liability of insurance companies for wrongful acts committed by sub-agents.

The activities conducted by Cesia in 2023 will be presented by the Study Center’s coordinator, Massimo Michaud, while the proceedings will be introduced by Lorenzo Sapigni, General Representative for Italy and European Underwriting & Claims Director of Cgpa Europe. Four members of Cesia’s scientific committee will speak: Sandro Amorosino (Associate Professor of Administrative Law at the International University Uninettuno, former Full Professor of Economic Law at Sapienza University); Patrizia Contaldo (Professor of Life Insurance and Pension Fund Economics, Director of the Insurance Market Observatory at Bocconi University); Sara Landini (Full Professor of Economic Law and Lecturer in Insurance Law at the University of Florence); and Pierpaolo Marano (Professor of Insurance Law and Commercial Law at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan). The afternoon will conclude with a roundtable discussion on claims-made clauses (Claims-made Clauses: An Endless Story), moderated by Lorenzo Sapigni.

Participants will include: Elena Bellizzi (Head of Market Conduct Supervision at Ivass); Alberto Cisterna (President of the XIII Civil Section of the Rome Court); Umberto Guidoni (Co-General Director of Ania); Maurizio Hazan (Lawyer at the associated law firm THMR); Sara Landini; Anna Carla Nazzaro (Professor of Private Law at the International University of Rome); and Italo Partenza (Lawyer at the Insurance Tort Civil Law firm).
